중앙일보 7월27일 보도에서 "키나드 참전용사회 회장은 '너무너무 감동받았다. 'We go together(함께 갑시다)!'를 외쳤다. 키나드 회장은 김 대표에게 한국전 동판화와 김 대표의 이름을 담은 액자를 선물했다"고 밝혔다.
전날 참전용사들과의 간담회에서 큰절을 했던 김 대표는 이날 알링턴 국립묘지에 안치된 월튼 워커 장군의 묘소에도 한국식으로 '재배'를 하고, 묘비를 손수건으로 닦았다. 워커 장군은 6·25 전쟁 당시 미8군 사령관으로 낙동강 전투를 승리로 이끈 전쟁 영웅이다. (7월27일, 연합뉴스)
