16일 오전 5시께 중서부전선 경기도 연천 지역 육군 모부대 GOP(일반전초)에서 A(21) 상병이 총상을 입고 숨진 채 발견됐다.
A상병은 순찰 근무 중 화장실로 갔다가 곧이어 머리에 총상을 입고 현장에서 사망한 것으로 알려졌다.
군 당국은 A상병이 가지고 있던 K-1 소총에서 총알이 발사된 것으로 파악하고 정확한 사고 경위를 조사하고 있다.
