커티스 위크런드(Curtis Wiklund)는 미국 미시간 주에서 활동하는 웨딩 포토그래퍼다. 그는 역시 사진작가인 아내와 결혼한 후 아내와 함께 보낸 시간들을 매일 그림으로 그렸다.

위크런드는 자신의 홈페이지에서 일러스트를 그린 계기에 대해 “아내가 365일 동안 매일 사진을 찍는 프로젝트를 하고 있었기 때문에 나도 영감을 얻었다”고 밝혔다. “일러스트를 본 사람들은 그림 덕분에 우리 부부를 더 잘 알게 된 것 같은 느낌을 얻었다고 말했다. 우리의 일상을 엿보는 기분이었을 것이다.”

위크런드가 인스타그램을 통해 공개한 그림들에는 사랑과 감동이 넘쳐난다. 아내의 임신소식을 알게 된 순간, 스노우보드 고글을 쓰고 양파를 썰던 순간, 잠에 빠진 아내를 번쩍 안아서 침대로 데려가던 순간들이 고스란히 담겨있다. 먼 나라 부부의 이야기지만, 이 그림들을 보면 당신도 이 부부를 꽤 잘 알게 될 게 분명하다.

Last one! Post from 7/9/12, still doing this: "Tonight, my wife and I had a long list of things to get done. Instead, we sat on the couch, she read to me, I played guitar for a while, and then I drew a picture… in fact the first drawing on here since finishing the 365 project! In my opinion, these were all better alternatives than “the list”. And I like to let my feet float up in the air while lying on the couch. Don’t know why. Sometimes I do it with my hands too."

I've received a recent influx of notifications via social media, and I haven't been able to figure out why. Today I stumbled upon a post from mott.pe on Facebook (an art school in South America), sharing 20 of my sketches of me and Jordin. The post has like 30,000 likes, 13,000 shares, and a billion comments that I wish I could read!
