그러자 기후과학자 마이클 E. 맨이 #ShowYourCancellation(구독 취소하자) 해시태그 운동으로 맞섰다.
The @NYTimes hiring of climate denier didn't lead me to cancel subscription. Public editor's offensive response did: https://t.co/BRnmwKIBmXpic.twitter.com/En14mZVYoD

.@nytimes Folks, it appears that the @NYTimes wants you to PROVE your subscription cancellation.#ShowYourCancellation
— Michael E. Mann (@MichaelEMann) April 25, 2017
@trafficstatic@ClaraJeffery@nytimes Calling critics of climate denialism "left-leaning" e.g. is offensive to me as scientist. Treats scientific reality as political football.
— Michael E. Mann (@MichaelEMann) April 25, 2017
@MichaelEMann@nytimes .@NYtimes ad boasts "Truth. It has NO alternative." So why did they hire a climate denier? #ShowYourCancellation - My @nytimes subscription. pic.twitter.com/g4j4sTNt1z
