어느새 2017년 오스카 시상식이 약 2달 앞으로 다가왔다. 미국 영화 전문 매체인 ‘인디 와이어’는 지난 2016년 오스카 시상식을 앞두고 경쟁작들의 원문 시나리오 다운로드를 무료로 제공한 바 있다. 그때는 ‘캐롤’, ‘스포트라이트’, ‘룸’ 등의 시나리오가 포함돼 있었다. 그에 이어 12월 7일, ‘인디와이어’는 2017년 오스카의 유력한 경쟁작으로 꼽히는 영화들의 원문 시나리오를 무료로 다운받을 수 있는 링크를 공개했다.

이 리스트에는 ‘캡틴 판타스틱’을 비롯해 ‘브리짓 존스의 베이비, ‘헤일, 시저’, ‘더 걸 온 더 트레인’, ‘마이펫의 이중생활’, ‘주토피아’, ‘설리 : 허드슨 강의 기적’, ‘컨택트’, ‘줄리에타’ 등의 작품이 포함돼 있다. 영어공부를 하고 싶은 사람에게나 소설가 혹은 시나리오 작가를 꿈꾸는 사람들에게는 유용한 자료일 듯 하다.
