런던 곳곳의 지하철역 출구에서 4일 오전(현지시각) '사랑과 결속' 시위가 일어났다. 이는 영국의 유럽 연합 탈퇴 결정 이후로 급증한 증오 범죄에 반대하는 목소리를 내기 위한 것이다.
수많은 시위자들은 브릭스턴, 킹스크로스, 핀즈버리 파크, 루이셤, 워털루, 올드 스트리트 등 런던 각지의 지하철역에 모여 역을 지나가는 사람들에게 꽃, 평화의 메시지, 하트 모양 스티커를 나눠줬고, 증오 범죄를 신고하는 법도 알려줬다.
시위는 4일 오전 지하철 플랫폼과 역에서 열렸으며, 행사와 동시에 '증오를 위한 곳은 없다'(No Place for Hate)라는 해시태그를 만들어 이 캠페인을 홍보하기도 했다.

이 행사는 지역 사회 단체 '런던 시민들'(London Citizens)이 계획했으며, 회원 중 몇 명은 증오 범죄를 경험했다고 밝혔다.
'남부 런던 시민들' 회원 에스마트 제라지는 지난주 인종 차별 사고에서 폭력을 당했다. 그는 "사랑과 결속 시위는 런던에서는 모두가 환영 받고 어떤 증오 범죄도 일어나서는 안 된다는 것을 보여주기 위해 계획됐다. 우리는 피해자로 구분되기 위해 이곳에 온 것이 아니다. 우리는 모두와 동등한 자격을 가진 사람으로서 이 부유한 다문화 도시에서 편견과 편협함이 눈에 띄게 증가한 현상에 반대하며, 우리의 도시, 존중과 평등을 되찾으려 이 행사에 참여했다."며 시위에 참여하게 된 소감을 전했다.
한편, 런던 시민들은 이 시위에 앞서 옷에 옷핀을 달며 무지와 혐오에 '뾰족한 방법'으로 맞선 바 있다.
