프랑스 파리 샹젤리제 거리에서 가스통 실은 차량이 경찰차에 돌진했다

프랑스 파리 샹젤리제 거리에서 19일(현지시간) 가스통을 실은 차량이 경찰차에 돌진해 충돌했다. 용의자는 중상을 입은 후 병원에서 숨졌으며 경찰은 테러가능성을 염두에 두고 수사에 착수했다. 용의자는 프랑스 정부의 지하디스트 감시목록에 올라있던 인물로 확인됐다.

AFP통신에 따르면, 이날 오후 샹젤리제 거리 전시관 그랑팔레(Grand Palais) 인근에서 흰색 차량 한 대가 경찰차를 향해 돌진했다. 차량 안에선 칼라슈니코프 자동 소총과 권총, 칼, 가스통들이 발견됐다.

용의자인 차량 운전자는 중상을 입고 병원으로 이송됐지만, 숨졌다. 주변에 있던 사람들은 다행히 무사했다.

용의자의 신원은 아담 드자지리로 확인됐다. 그는 '급진 이슬람주의 운동'과의 연루 혐의로 2015년부터 프랑스 당국의 감시 목록에 올라있던 인물이라고 AFP는 전했다. 전과 기록은 없었다.

현장에 있던 목격자는 “사람들이 마구 도망쳤다”며 “어떤 사람들은 내게 도망가라고 소리쳤다”고 당시 상황을 전했다.

경찰은 샹젤리제 거리 인근 주민들에게 대피를 권고하고, 지하철역 2곳을 폐쇄했다.

제라드 콜롱 프랑스 내무장관은 “프랑스의 보안 부대가 또다시 공격받았다. 이것은 의도된 공격”이라고 밝혔다. 이어 “차량에서 발견된 무기와 폭발물들은 충분히 그 차를 날려버릴 수 있을 정도”였다고 덧붙였다.

한편 이번 사건은 불과 두달 전 총격 '테러'경찰관 두 명이 사망한 사건이 벌어진 곳 인근에서 벌어졌다.
