한반도를 향해 북상중인 태풍 '네파탁'의 위력

소형급으로 약해진 제1호 태풍 '네파탁'(NEPARTAK)이 한반도를 향해 북상하고 있다.

기상청 관계자는 9일 "태풍의 정확한 이동경로는 향후 이틀가량 지켜봐야 한다"며 "하지만 오늘 오전 3시 현재 중국 푸저우(福州) 남쪽 약 220㎞ 부근 해상에 있는 태풍 네파탁이 북서쪽으로 이동하면서 11일에는 제주도와 남부지방에 영향을 줄 것"이라고 예보했다.

12∼13일에는 한국에 전국적으로 강한 바람과 함께 많은 비를 뿌릴 것으로 예상된다.

기상청 관계자는 "태풍은 이동경로와 강도 규모를 정확히 예측하기는 힘들지만 현재로서는 네파탁이 전국적으로 강한 바람과 함께 폭우를 뿌릴 가능성이 큰 만큼 피해가 없도록 대비해야 한다"고 당부했다.

이날 오전 3시 현재 네파탁은 중심기압이 980hPa(헥토파스칼), 최대풍속이 초속 29m(104㎞/h)로 중간 강도의 소형급 태풍으로 약화됐다. 강풍 반경은 250㎞이다.

같은 날 오후 3시 푸저우 남서쪽 약 150㎞부근 육지에 진입하면 강도가 약해지는 등 힘이 더욱 떨어질 전망이다.

그러나 이 태풍은 7일 오후 3시 대만 타이베이 남남동쪽 약 430㎞ 부근 해상으로 움직였을 때만 해도 강도가 매우 강한 중형급 태풍이었다.

네파탁은 대만 상륙 당시 최고등급(17급 이상·초속 61.2m 이상)의 강풍과 함께 500㎜가 넘는 비를 뿌렸다. 순간 최대풍속 기준으로 1955년 태풍의 16급(초속 56.1m)보다 강했다.

네파탁은 대만에 상륙하면서 61년 만의 최고로 기록된 강풍과 폭우를 동반해 주택 침수·붕괴·산사태를 불렀고, 50만 가구 이상이 정전됐다.

9일 대만 중앙통신(CNA)과 신화통신 등에 따르면 대만 재해당국은 네파탁이 전날 새벽 상륙한 이후 지금까지 1만7천300명이 집을 떠나 대피했고, 51만7천가구가 정전됐다고 집계했다.

중국도 긴장하고 있다.

중국 중앙기상대는 "태풍이 푸젠·저장성 연안지역에 돌풍, 폭우를 종일 계속해서 몰고 오겠다"고 밝혔다. 또 저장성 해양관측소는 "오늘밤 우리 성(省) 남쪽 바다의 파고가 3~4m로 매우 높게 일겠다"고 예보했다.

저장성 항저우(杭州) 철도당국은 오는 10일까지 푸저우, 샤먼, 상하이(上海), 선전(深천<土+川>), 광저우(廣州) 등 연안지역으로 향하는 92대의 철도편 운행을 중단한다고 밝혔다. 또 장쑤(江蘇)성 난징(南京)역은 푸젠·장시(江西)·광둥(廣東)성으로 향하는 고속철 16편 운행을 중단했다.

올해 처음으로 발생한 네파탁은 미크로네시아가 제출한 명칭이다. 유명한 전사의 이름이다.
