러시아 전역에서 9일(현지시간) 제2차 세계대전 승전 71주년을 기념하는 군사퍼레이드 등 각종 행사가 펼쳐졌다.

모스크바에선 이날 오전 10시(현지시간)부터 크렘린궁 앞 붉은광장에서 약 1만 명의 군인이 참가한 가운데 군사퍼레이드가 진행됐다. 퍼레이드에 참석한 블라디미르 푸틴 대통령은 "이 행사(승전 기념행사)는 러시아와 러시아인 모두의 상징이 됐다"며 "이 같은 국민의 단합과 애국심에 러시아의 힘이 있다"고 강조했다.

푸틴은 또 우크라이나 사태로 갈등을 겪고 있는 서방과의 단합 필요성을 강조하면서 "우리는 (국제테러리즘이라는) 악(惡)을 이겨내야 하며 러시아는 이를 위해 다른 나라들과 힘을 합치는 데 열려있다"며 "블록으로 나뉘지 않은 현대적 국제안보시스템을 창설하는데도 참여할 준비가 돼 있다"고 밝혔다.


이날 군사퍼레이드에는 누르술탄 나자르바예프 카자흐스탄 대통령을 제외하고 다른 국가 지도자들은 참석하지 않았다.

뒤이어 시작된 열병식에는 러시아가 자랑하는 135 대의 각종 무기와 군사장비, 71 대의 공군기 등이 참가해 위용을 과시했다.

지난해 첫선을 보인 최신형 탱크 아르마타와 최신 지대공 미사일 S-400 트리움프, 대륙간탄도미사일(ICBM) RS-24 야르스, 신형 전술탄도미사일 이스칸데르-M 등이 붉은광장을 지나갔다.

핵 공격에 이용되는 전략폭격기 투폴례프(Tu)-95MS, Tu-22M3와 첨단 4.5세대 전투기 Su-35S 등이 시속 500km의 속도로 광장 위 하늘을 날았다.

퍼레이더는 Su-25 공격기 6대가 백색, 청색, 적색의 러시아 국기 색깔 연막을 내뿜으며 창공을 수놓는 에어쇼로 막을 내렸다.

푸틴 대통령은 군사 페레이드 뒤 붉은광장 옆에 있는 무명용사의 묘에 헌화하고 크렘린궁에서 행사 참석자들을 위한 연회를 열었다.

모스크바를 비롯한 러시아 전역에선 2차대전 참전 용사들의 가족과 친인척들이 선조들의 사진을 들고 가두행진을 펼치는 '불멸의 부대' 행사가 열렸다.

주최 측은 전국에서 지난해의 2배 규모인 약 2천400만 명이 이 행사에 참석할 것으로 예상했다.

모스크바에선 약 50만 명이 시내 레닌드라드스키 대로, 트베르스카야 거리를 지나 붉은광장까지 행진했다.

푸틴 대통령도 2차 대전에 참전했다 부상을 당했던 부친의 사진을 들고 붉은광장에서의 가두행진에 동참했다.

옛 소련은 2차 대전에서 약 2천700만 명의 군인과 민간인이 목숨을 잃었다.
